Our Catholic Life
Beginning the Year with Faith and Joy
A small group of children from our school were honoured to attend the Beginning of the School Year Mass at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, celebrated by Archbishop John Wilson. This special occasion brought together pupils and staff from across the diocese to mark the start of the academic year in prayer and unity. Our children represented the school beautifully, joining in the liturgy with reverence and joy. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our shared mission as a Catholic community and to ask for God’s guidance and blessings for the year ahead.
Year 4 Celebrate the Start of the Year at Aylesford Priory
Our Year 4 children were privileged to attend the KCSP Beginning of the Year Mass at the beautiful Aylesford Priory, celebrated by Canon Victor Darlington, Episcopal Vicar for Education. It was a joyful and reflective celebration, bringing together schools from across the trust to begin the academic year in faith and unity. We were especially proud of our children who took part in the Mass by carrying the school banner, presenting artwork inspired by the Common Good, and reading a Prayer of the Faithful. All of the children's thoughtful contributions and reverent participation truly embodied the values we strive to live by each day.
Learning from Our Class Saints
Each class has been exploring the life and legacy of their chosen class saint. These inspiring figures serve not only as spiritual role models but also as powerful examples of how we can live out the values of Catholic Social Teaching in our daily lives. Through stories, discussions, and creative activities, children have discovered how their class saint demonstrated principles such as dignity, compassion, justice, and service to others. This learning helps to root our classroom communities in faith, guiding us to be thoughtful, caring, and active members of both our school and the wider world.
