An Ofsted inspection in January 2023, recognised the school to be 'outstanding'.
PRIMARY ADMISSION
You must complete the Kent County Council (or other Council if resident in another county):Reception Common Application Form (RCAF)
Please also ensure that you have read the school’s Privacy Notice, which can be found on the school’s website here
Please return this Supplementary Information Form to the Admissions Officer at the school (not Local Authority). For Year R entry in September 2026 please return this form to the school no later than 15 January 2026 in order that we may rank your application.
Please note failure to submit a completed Supplementary Information form when applying for a Catholic school place may result in your application not being placed in the correct category and could result in you not receiving an offer of a place, please find a copy of the Supplementary Information form at the bottom of this webpage.
If you are a practising Catholic, you will also need to complete a Certificate of Practise form, which can be collected from the school office.
In Year or Casual Applications
Applications made too late for the local authority co-ordinated system, In-year applications for year R and applications for entry to years 1-6 must be made on the IYCAF (In -Year and Casual application Form) available on school websites. The same policy and procedure (apart from the timetable) applies to these applications. This form must be sent to the school’s Admissions Officer with this supplementary information form.
Appeals
You must submit your appeal before Monday 18th May 2026 for it to be considered. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education
For appeals related to in year applications, appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

N.B. The above documentation will need to be original documents for us to check and photocopy.
Please note if an application is incomplete and we are lacking necessary information this will hold up the process of admissions.
How many children are on the waiting list?
This is a question that has many variables, for example; Baptised Catholics with all of the correct documentation submitted to the school will take precedence, (please see our admissions criteria)
As and when a space becomes available, we will look at our waiting list and refer to our criteria and rank them accordingly. So this is a very hard question to answer.
When will I hear if my child is successful?
We will only get in touch with you if a child that currently attends St Joseph's leaves our school which means a space has opened up or we will write to you annually to enquire if you still wish to remain on our waiting list.
If your child is successful, the school office will formally offer you a place, which you will need to provide written confirmation accepting your place. You can still accept the offer even if your child has already started at another school.
How many children are on the waiting list?
We receive multiple in year applications, which means the numbers fluctuate on a regular basis. It would be difficult to provide a definitive number.
