School Sports
School sports are defined by the Association for Physical Education (AFPE) as 'the structured learning that takes place beyond the curriculum (i.e. in the extended curriculum) within school settings; this is sometimes referred to as out-of-school-hours learning'.
After School Clubs
At St Joseph's, there are lots of opportunities to take part in after school sports clubs (many of which have been funded using the PE and Sport Premium funding).
St Joseph's Sports Teams
At St Joseph's, pupils are given the opportunity to participate in a range of tournaments and sports festivals both within school (Intra-competitions) between year groups and with other schools (Inter-competitions). Please see some photographs of recent events below.
2025-2026 Sporting Events
Football Match - On Wednesday 19th November, 12 of our pupils represented St Joseph's in a football match held at Our Lady of Hartley. St Joseph's won the match 1-0. All the children played superbly as a team and showed great sportsmanship. We are so proud of them all and look forward to a rematch at our home ground.

Cobham Hall's Brooke and Barratt Cross Country - Friday 7th November - What an eventful afternoon!! Some pupils from year 5 and 6 competed in a cross country race against other local schools around the grounds of Cobham Hall. There were ditches and stinging nettles to navigate along the way but they all finished with a smile on their face. Well done to all that took part, you represented the school amazingly and we are so proud of all of you.

Girls Football Event - Year 3 girls participated in a girls football festival. We had so much fun and the girls represented our school with impeccable behaviour. They should be really proud of themselves. Well done St Joseph's.
